About Serendipity Yogi's

About Yoga:

Yoga is an ancient Indian philosophy - dating back over 5,000 years - and way of life, which has the ability to transform lives! Through the practice of yoga we are able to unify and cleanse the body, mind and spirit. It is an art of understanding oneself mentally, emotionally and physically, and if practised regularly can help bring a sense of inner peace and contentment, as well as improving one's physical body and health.

Yoga provides many benefits, including:

  • Improved flexibility, strength, core stability and balance

  • Improves circulation, and lowers blood pressure

  • Improved cardio-vascular and respiratory functions

  • Helps manage body weight

  • Strengthens the immune system, reduces fatigue, and increases energy/vitality

  • Detoxifies the body and improves digestion

  • Reduces stress, and improves emotional and mental health

About me:

My name is Sian and I am a yoga practitioner, teaching Yoga in Northamptonshire. I hold a Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Yoga, Pre and Post Natal Teacher Cerificate (BSY), Children's Yoga certificate through YogaKidz, and am also a member of the Register of Exercise Professionals. I am currently finalising my certificate in Teaching The Ashtanga Primary Series.

Although I have dabbled for many years, it was whilst pregnant with my second child that I really began to incorporate regular practice into my life and discovered a love of yoga. Prior to pregnancy I was already physically active and fit, but during pregnancy was looking for a form of exercise that could help me to stay strong, supple and energised, that was low-impact and safe for my unborn child.

Yoga truly has changed my life..... I have suffered from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder for a number of years, the symptoms of which include nightmares, flashbacks, anxiety attacks, and a heightened sense of fear for my safety and that of my family - all of which I have been able to manage more effectively with the aid of daily  practice. My illness has historically caused relationship problems, episodes of depression, and low self-esteem, but with two young children to care for managing my mental health is not just important - it is essential!!!

Whether you are looking to improve your fitness levels, incorporate exercise into your life, improve your emotional wellbeing and self-confidence, reduce stress levels, or discover a sense of spirituality then yoga is for you. Whatever your motivation, I can help you to develop your practice – either in a group session or one-to-one setting. Whether you are completely new to yoga or have some level of experience, for private tuition (Yoga in Northamptonshire, Cherwell and surrounding areas) I can help you to realise your aspirations and develop a practice to suit your personal ability and goals, and my classes (coming soon.....) cater for all levels - focussing on what you CAN achieve. Please contact me for further information or a free consultation.

I am also a qualified Yogakidz Children's Yoga Teacher, available to run classes in schools,  pre-schools, children's parties etc. Providing a fun and engaging introduction to yoga, with an emphasis on teaching children compassion and respect for themselves and others. If you would like to discuss your requirements please get in touch.

Furthermore, I am certified to teach Pre and Post Natal (December 2017). I am currently only accepting private clients though, due to limited availability for classes.

TESTIMONIAL

Testimonials:

'I have attended several of Sian's Viniyasa "flow" classes and recommend them highly. I find the constant move from one to posture stimulating and interesting and, unlike other forms of yoga where there is a break between postures, less open to distraction. Sian's classes show her to be a calm and capable teacher who manages her classes with serene good humour.' Linda

'Sian has a unique ability to make you feel at complete ease, even if, like me you have specific health needs meaning asanas have to be adapted to fit with what I'm able to achieve. I was new to Yoga and with Sian's help and support, I've been able to access this hugely beneficial therapy. Thanks Sian!' Michelle

"I really enjoyed the weekend, and would like to attend another organised by Sian. I could choose classes at different levels and with different focuses, which was great. I also appreciated that the weekend was focussed on yoga, but was also relaxed."

"Greatly improve your quality of life and health, by attending one of Sian's Yoga weekends, not to be missed!"
