Styles of Yoga

There are many styles of Yoga, which include:

  • Ashtanga - 6 strenous pose (asana) sequences, rapidly flowing from one asana to the next

  • Bikram - Also known as "hot yoga" this style is performed in a sauna like room

  • Hatha - The classical form of yogic breathing and asanas, from which most Westernised forms of yoga originate

  • Iyengar - Precisely alligned poses, using a variety of props

  • Kundalini - An invigorating and fluid practice, intended to release the kundalini energy

  • Viniyoga - Highly personalised practice, with adaptations to suit the individual

  • Vinyasa (power) - An active and athletic form of yoga, flowing from one asana to the next

  • YinI- A meditative form of yoga, with passive poses where gravity does its work in order to lengthen connective tissue

I predominately offer tuition in Hatha and Vinyasa styles, as well as children's yoga.
